| Welcome to the American College of Clinical Information Managers (ACCIM) public website. ACCIM certifies qualifying medical scribes who specialize in real-time medical record documentation onsite. ACCIM certification is sought and earned by medical scribes on a voluntary basis. ACCIM certifies only those medical scribes who meet high educational, professional standing, and examination standards. ACCIM extends a special welcome to medical scribes who will participate in Medical Scribe Continuous Certification (MSCC) and Continuing Scribe Education (CSE), an ACCIM maintenance of certification program. MSCC and CSE represent important objectives of ACCIM to develop and maintain the highest professional quality of medical scribes in the field of real-time medical record documentation.
The ACCIM is a non-profit 501(c)6 organization devoted to advancing the education, proficiency and professional standing of medical scribes. We are the only governing body charged with upholding the standards of excellence for accreditation, training, and evaluation. After gaining membership into the ACCIM, and working minimum 200 hours as a medical scribe, our members can obtain professional certification as a “certified Scribe” or “certified Clinical Information Manager.” This distinction underscores individual commitment and certifies the mastery of the myriad of skills required to assist physicians, nurse-practitioners, and physician assistants with real-time medical record documentation and efficiencies in the modern clinical environment. |
